Swim Meets

Sugarwood Stingrays Swim Team is part of GKAISA and our meets are competitive. This season we will swim:

1. One intersquad meet called the Red and Black Meet.

This year it will be held on Thursday, June 5, 2025 at 6p. Team t-shirts will be distributed and the team picture will be taken before the meet.

2. We will have four dual meets this year. Each of our Home Meets has a theme. It's a fun, team spirit building activity - costumes are encouraged.

3. Smoky Mountain Invitational (SMI): The Smoky Mountain Invitational meet is the largest outdoor swim meet in the United States. Swimmers who compete with a year-round club swim team are not eligible to swim during the Smoky Mountain Invitational. There is an additional fee to participate in SMI.

This year it will be held Saturday, July 26 for the 11& ups and Sunday, July 27 for the 10 & unders. It is hosted by the Maryville-Alcoa Flying Dolphins at the Springbrook Pool in Alcoa, TN. Visit SMI for more information.

SWSR will provide a large team tent at this event.
Heat sheets are ONLY available online at the SMI website. Please print your own heat sheets or view them online.
The SWSR theme for this event is Mexican Fiesta.
It is tradition, if you win your heat, to get your picture taken in a sombrero holding up your heat winner ribbon.
SMI t-shirts are pre-order ONLY.

4. City Meet: This is the end-of-season championship meet for swimmers across all leagues within GKAISA at the Allan Jones Aquatic Center on the University of Tennessee Campus. There is an additional fee to participate in City Meet. It is a 3 day swim meet held in July.

Preliminaries for swimmers 10-Under will be held on Thursday, July 10.

Preliminaries for swimmers 11-Up will be held on Friday, July 11.

Finals will be held on Saturday, July 12 for the top 16 in each event.

NO Personal tents are allowed. SWSR will have a large team tent to utilize.
NO outside food or drink is allowed inside the Allan Jones Aquatic Center. You may bring food items but keep them in the tent area.
No online Heat sheets. Must be purchased at the meet.
