    Summer Swim Is Here!!!

    Good afternoon Stingray Families!

I just wanted to touch base as we look to our season officially starting tomorrow!  A couple of things to plan for... We have drylands Mon, Tues, and Wed of this week from 5 pm-6 pm, down at the pool grassy area.  The kids will have a good workout as well as time to get to know each other, the coaches, and have some fun!  Please make these practices if you are able!  Monday, right after our practice, promptly at 6 pm, we'll have a Parent Meeting.  This will be brief but informative.  All of our SWSR Coaches will be there, as will Chet Carbaugh.  We'll introduce ourselves and give some ideas of what to expect this season.  Feel free to bring your questions and ask us!

As we look to this week-Swimmers will all need to wear comfortable work out clothes and tennis shoes, bring a towel, and bring WATER. PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE!!! Help your swimmers remember their water bottle!  It will be HOT at these drylands especially.  We want everyone to stay hydrated!

As Chet mentioned, we are switching up this coming Friday's schedule.  Instead of just having new swimmer evaluations, we have decided to go ahead and hold our first actual practice.  They will need to bring water bottle, goggles, cap (if they use them), AND be prepared to begin the practice with stretching and a shorter version of core/workout. All 11 & Ups will go to their usual practice times.  10 & Unders who have been a Stingray before can go to their appropriate age group time.  If anyone ended as a Little Ray last year, and if you are 10 & under and new to SWSR, please plan to come around 11.  We will try to get through evaluations so all swimmers can be placed where they would progress best and be ready for that time practice on Tuesday, May 29th.

Important side note: Parents and swimmers: Please be aware that you are driving through a neighborhood with LOTS of young children.  Please drive carefully, pay attention to stop signs, and watch for children.  There will be many children walking/biking/skate boarding to swim practice, many playing in their driveways, and in the roads.  Parents please talk to your teen drivers as well.

If you have any questions, please feel free to email Coach Jacob ([email protected]) or myself ([email protected])
