Meets!!!
Good evening all! Hopefully you've had a chance to take a peek at the document Coach Jacob sent out earlier today. What an amazing night! It was so exciting and we eagerly look forward to our remaining meets.
Thank you all for your grace as we've learned this new league software. After talking to many of you, we've decided to go ahead and "Open" up all the remaining dual meets. The final 3 dual meets are at SWSR pool, and are on Thursdays. So, at this point, you can log on and mark "Attending" or "Not Attending" for them all. They will all automatically close on the Tuesday before the meet, at 9 pm.
SMI/CITY: For those of you new to summer swim, we have 2 meets in addition to our dual meets. The first of these is Smoky Mountain Invitational, for 11-18 year olds, the meet is on Sat 7/14 and all 10 & Unders swim on Sunday 7/15. This is a VERY exciting, fun, and competitive meet at the Alcoa Maryville Pool. We focus a lot of our season of training on this meet. There is an additional fee for this meet of $15/swimmer, which covers their entry fees, and our SWSR team tent. The second and final meet of the summer is our GKAISA City Championship, held in a prelims/finals format, at UT/Allan Jones Aquatic Center. The 11& Ups swim prelims on Fri 7/27, the 10& Unders all swim prelims on Sat 7/28, and everyone who qualifies for the top 16 will race in the finals on Sun 7/29. This is an awesome meet to be a part of, to watch, and get to learn about. The fee for this meet is $20/swimmer.
The deadlines for forms and fees for both of these meets is Mon 6/25. You may bring your fees and forms to Coach Jacob or me at practice but PLEASE understand we have a lot going on during practice and because our ultimate focus each day is your swimmer, we ask that IF you want to give it it to us at practice that you: fill out the form PRIOR to practice, give exact change if using cash, or a check, and place in a sealed envelope and give it to one of us at practice. Checks are to be made to Sugarwood Stingrays and both fees can be combined into one.
Coaches WILL pick all relays, and coaches will talk to swimmers about Individual events and they can either write in their personal preferences on the form, or select "coaches choice". If you have any questions, please feel free to email, call, or text either of us.
Thank you all!
Coach Jodi
