This week!
Good morning all! As we are wrapping up our final week of 2019 summer swim, here are a few things we can plan on...
First of all, the sickness seems to be fading, but please keep your swimmers home until they are completely symptom and medication free for 24 hours. We are on the home stretch, and I'm not aware of any new sickness, so stopping the spread is so important!
Our schedule this week:
Mon and Tuesday: As usual, seniors done by 11:15.
Wed: all will be finishing up early, and seniors will be done by 11, please plan to pick them up around then, so they're not waiting in the hot sun!
Thursday: 9-10 and 8& U will NOT practice Thursday morning (Because they will have their City Prelims Thursday afternoon). 11-14 will practice from 8-9 am and 15& Up from 9-10. Please be sure to get swimmers on time from this! Coaches will be leaving to head up to UT to get ready for City Championship.
Friday: 11 & Up Prelims
Saturday: ALL AGES who finish top 16 Thursday and Friday will swim FINALS!
We do not have our SWSR warmup schedule yet from GKAISA, but here is what we do know...The entire meet is held up at UT, Allan Jones Aquatic Center. SWSR has a large tent, which is in the street, right next to the pool (between AJAC and SAC), so very convenient! You can set up all your chairs and bags there, and go inside when you are watching races. The Clerk of Course is set up behind the pool, around the corner from our tent.
Thursday (10 & Unders) warmups start at 1, meet will start at 3 pm.
Friday: (11 & Ups) warmups start at 7 am, meet starts at 9 am.
Saturday (Finals for all) warmups start at 7 am, meet starts at 9 am.
Last week we worked on a lot of endurance, longer sets, building cardio back up after being off for a few days. This week we will work on event specific sets. With the exception of sickness, please do everything you can to have your swimmer(s) at these practices. The swimmers have worked so hard this summer, and progressed so much! We are very excited for the final meet this weekend! We want them to have every opportunity to get to work on the fine tuning of the details of their races.
This has been such a great summer. We are so thankful for each of your kids and for the way you parents have continued to help and support! We are very near the finish line! And don't forget, make sure you plan to come to our End of Year party, Tues July 30th 4:30, McFee Park. For those of you who haven't come, we get to watch a video of our season, eat together, go through awards and highlights of our season. It's a fun way to end the summer together!
Thank you all!
Coach Jodi
