Tomorrow-Details
Good Evening Stingrays! We are so excited that we get to start TOMORROW!! Thank you all for your patience and loyalty as we work through all of this. We are so incredibly grateful for a team this summer, each of you, and for all the work that has gone into this! Welcome to our new Stingrays as well!
As we're all aware by now, things will be a little different this summer. We ask for your grace and patience as we navigate these waters. Just getting to have a swim team is such a treat and the many changes that have come this year add much stress and we realize that, so please bear with us as we work to keep our team and families safe, and take care of the pool area we have been so blessed to be able to use.
A few notes for tomorrow and the season...Please familiarize yourself with our website, swsr.swimtopia.com Our practice schedule as well as any announcements will be posted there.
In order to comply with our various boards and health dept, we need to show that we are making the necessary efforts and taking the steps to as safe as possible.
Arriving at practice: When swimmers arrive, please be sure they go to the basketball court for their drylands. There will be a coach there to help direct them, take their temps, etc and they can drop their bags on the way, near the court. After drylands, they will enter the pool through the main/front gate (near the restrooms). Boys will place bags on the fence/ground on the parking lot side of the pool, and girls will go to the basketball court side.
*If they bring their Stingray backpack, please make sure there is some sort of identifying marker on the bag. There will be LOTS of them hanging around.
When they finish practice, they will exit through the back gate (where we have clerk of course for meets), and you will be able to pick them up as usual.
PLEASE be sure they bring a water bottle, towel, cap (if needed), and goggles. We will not able to share, loan, pass, etc any of these items! If possible, have them come in their suits with tennis shoes for drylands, and bring a pair of flip flops or something easy and quick to slip on after practice. We want to keep things as simple and quick coming and going from the pool area to maintain all needed distance.
Parents are welcome to watch practice, but unless needed to come in, please remain on the outside of the fence area to limit our number of people in the pool area.
Please know-usually we say we practice in any weather and will head to a pavilion for extra drylands if inclement weather. This year though, we can't do that. So keep a eye on the weather. We will cancel if thunder and lightning occur, as well as heavy rain. We are asking ALL swimmers to have at least themselves (if driving) or a parent join our remind app. To join, please send a text to: 81010 saying @swsrp This will ensure you get our alerts.
Reminder that we are operating on a zero tolerance policy at this point in a few areas. If a temperature reading on a swimmer comes back over 100.4, we will have them sit aside and text you to come get them.
If a swimmer is having trouble following instructions, we will have to have the swimmer sit out and try again the next day. There is just too much at risk right now that we just don't want to jeopardize safety or risk losing the use of our pool.
Please prepare your swimmers that there will be lane assignments for now. We have tried to factor in training style, endurance, strengths, AND friendships :) so please understand we've done the best we can for the good of the team, for now. We will modify these as we see fit, and we will try to explain this to them as they finish drylands.
If you have any questions, please feel free to reach out to me, 207.8878 or Coach Jacob 661-1316.
Thank you and see you soon!
Coach Jodi
