Red and Black Meet
Good evening! What a great first 2 days of practice! We are just thrilled with each of our swimmers-they are working hard, and listening well, and we are having SO much fun with your swimmers!
Now we are ready for our next step this summer.. Let's get ready for some swim meets! Our first meet is next week, which is our Red and Black on June 8th, and it's just SWSR and it's a training meet for swimmers, parents, and coaches! We get to walk through all the events, doing one relay, and talking through and trying out worker positions. It's a key part of our summer, because it helps us all understand and work through the dynamics of a meet, while it's just our team. It's also crucial to the coaches for future meets so that we can make the best lineups and events. We need the best and most accurate times and information so we can continue training our swimmers and also refining areas we need more work.
So, here's what we need everyone to do...Please go in and try this as soon as possible, because sometimes it takes a minute to remember how. We are going to close this RSVP Sunday night, June 4th and want you all to have time to get this done. Once we close the meet RSVP, coaches go in and enter the swimmers in all the events. It makes things very difficult once we close the RSVP and begin the lineup to get last minute changes. We understand that last minute sicknesses come up, and when this happens, we do ask that you please text me ASAP so we can adjust. With 170ish swimmers, when a swimmer doesn't show up, it has a huge trickle down effect on all the relays, point potential, and lots of other details that we won't bore you with, but hope and pray you understand us on this.
Here are the steps to RSVP for the meet. and this is for whether your swimmer CAN or CAN NOT make it, so please do this! First, log in to your swsr.swimtopia.com account. On the home page, on the right side of the screen, under "Upcoming Events", click on Red and Black. On the next screen, to the right of "Red and Black" is a green "Meet Entry Open" button, click that. Then, you should see "Your family swim meet status" with each of your swimmers listed. Please select "Attending" or "Not Attending" for each child. Please do not leave them "Undeclared". These steps are so helpful when trying to manage a large team.
Thank you all! If you have trouble with this, please feel free to ask around during practice tomorrow-we have many seasoned parents who can help out or show you how! Worker information will be coming soon as well, so please hang tight on that!
Thank you and see you all soon!
Coach Jodi
