    ACAC SWIMMING

Hello Summer League Parents and Affiliates,

If you are receiving this email, we had at least one family representing your various summer teams approach our bench at SMI and/or GKAISA to show interest in possibly swimming with our club team this fall.

There have been a few changes to our practice schedule that should allow more time for many to get to practice much easier than before, so I wanted to make sure everyone who may be interested in swimming with ACAC this fall was updated.

All of our updates and fee information are on the attached/updated flyer.  If you would kindly forward this email to anyone on your team who may be interested in competing with ACAC, we would be very grateful!  Thank You.

    RIPTIDES SWIM TEAM

    Hello SWST Parents,

Congratulations on another successful summer swim season! Did your swimmer enjoy summer swim team? Would they like to improve their skills over the fall-spring?

My name is Kim Wiebe, and I am a former SWST mom of three. I am a Red Cross Certified Swim Instructor with 25 years teaching experience, Division 1 collegiate competitive Swimmer at Miami University, and Olympic Trial Qualifier.

What separates good, better, and great competitive swimmers?  TECHNIQUE! I am so excited to be starting back with our Riptides Winter Swim Team in September! We are a low-key small team designed to serve summer swim team kids who want to improve their skills over the fall-spring, or kids who would like to be prepared to join a summer team for the first time. All groups run monthly so you can join us all fall-spring, take a few  months off, or join us when your schedule permits.

Riptides competitive swim team groups: These groups are designed to work on all four competitive strokes: Butterfly, backstroke, breaststroke, and freestyle stroke technique for maximum efficiency and to eliminate those frustrating disqualifications. We also focus on the details of the race that make a big difference in times: breaststroke pull-downs, flip turns, open turns, individual starts, breakouts, relay starts, and strong finishes. These hour long groups run monthly (4 weeks each) September through May, approximate ages 7-17.

Tuesdays and Thursdays starting Tuesday September 5 and Thursday September 7, 5:00-6:00 pm for younger swimmers, possibly adding 6:00-7:00 for older swimmers, depending on number of sign ups. $80.00 per month per child for 1 class a week, $60.00 per month for second class. Siblings pay half price of above.

Riptides Pre-competitive Swim team groups Half-hour groups for kids who have never done swim team before but want to prepare for it. We work on learning all four competitive strokes, starts, and finishes. Must be able to swim 1 length of pool. Approximate ages 5 and up. Tuesdays and Thursdays 4:30-5:00. $60.00 per month per child for 1 class a week, $45.00 per month for second class.

Riptides swim meet  (optional) opportunity for all groups, at UT April 2018. See http://riptides.swim-team.us for more info and pictures from last years meet.

Location: Tellico Village Wellness Center, 200 Dohi Drive, Loudon, 37774. It is a 15 minute drive from Lenoir City, 25 min drive from Farragut. Anyone who has been to the TVWC has fallen in love with it! It has a 6 lane under used competitive indoor pool with 6 starting blocks. Right off the pool is an outdoor space with tables and chairs with a beautiful view of the mountains. It has an outdoor paved walking trail for parents and siblings to enjoy while your swimmer is training. No membership required.
