PAST WEEK IN REVIEW
Great evening last Tuesday for a swim meet final Score SWSR 346 BFST 376. Proud of all the Coaches, Swimmers and Parent Volunteers. The swim meet was a very close swim meet. 30 points may seem like a lot of points, however to simplify how close the swim meet was, had SWSR won 4 more relays SWSR would have won the meet by 1 point. Remind your swimmers that every race is important individual or relay. Hard swims for a second or third place finish can be the difference in a close swim meet. In the end SWSR swam hard and had fun. I have seen significant improvement in our swimmers and this usually results in time improvements. There were many PB (personal best) swims at Tuesdays swim meet. Encourage your swimmers to keep coming to practice and doing the things the coaches are asking them to do. I am confident they will see improvement and have FUN at the same time. Wednesdays Movie Day was Rayawesome and an opportunity to kick back and relax. All in all a great week for the Stingray Nation. I know the coaches are talking to swimmers and parents about SMI and City Meet. Let me quickly encourage you to participate. These are day long events filled with competition and TEAM TENT CRAZINESS. For our SWSR new families do NOT be cautious with these two Meets, jump in knee deep. The coaches are going to have your swimmers ready for these large swim meets. SWSR has traditionally done well as a team at these events and was league champs at SMI two years. The more swimmers that participate at these meets the stronger the SWSR team is. One of the advantages in these meets is the MORE relays a team can field often results in more team points. SMI is SWSR's traditional Mexican team tent theme. All Heat Winners get to wear the BIG sombrero hat with pictures by the SWSR sign. See ya around the RAY pool this week and get those forms turned in.
RAYS IN THE WATER!!!
