SWSR vs MAFD - Maryville Alcoa Flying Dolphins swim meet timetable (TUESDAY)

Swim Meet THEME is CRAZY HAT Night.  Also use your SWSR CAR FLAGS

5:00 PM SWSR Swimmers to arrive and CHECK-IN.

5:30 PM SWSR Warm-ups..

6:00 PM Swim Meet STARTS.

9:00 PM (or right after completion of swim meet) SWSR invades SONIC to celebrate the Swim Meet.

MAFD Springbrook pool is 20+ miles from Farragut.  Please allow 30-40 minutes drive time to arrive for check-in.  The pool address is 636 Vose Rd, Alcoa, TN 37701.

REMEMBER – each family review Coach’s email and reply to her ONLY IF NEEDED about the confirmation of your swimmer(s) participation in MAFD SWIM MEET.

REMEMBER – each family MUST review the MEET DIRECTORS email and reply to her if correction is needed regarding your parent volunteer position!!!

PAST WEEK IN REVIEW

Wow two swim meets in one week really test the organizations strengths and weaknesses.  All in all I was very proud to see our Swimmers, Coaches, and Parents doing what SWSR does every year which is rise to the challenges that are presented.  Let me review some bullet items as reminders to all some of the overall expectations and needs of parents.

• A parent must work one shift of a swim meet (especially HOME swim meets).  There are simply to many volunteer positions that must be filled to run a meet smoothly and not over work parents willing to work multiple shifts.  WE MUST do better with this.  Please know if parent is not willing to help than SWSR can pull the swimmer from the swim meet.  We do not want to pull swimmers from swim meets.  Parent Volunteering is simply the SWSR way.
• Changes to relays can ONLY be made by a coach.  changes to relays can cause disqualification of the entire relay if not done properly.  Parents or swimmers making relay changes is not acceptable.
• Please note that the coaches are charged with coaching the swimmers during a swim meet and to have their eyes on the swimmers in the pool as much as possible.  Swim meets can be confusing and questions can arise throughout a swim meet.  If you have a question during a swim meet lean on the veteran parents, Meet director, clerk of course or find Chet to have your question answered.  If your question does specifically relate to a swimmer (maybe they became ill and you have to leave the swim meet) then absolutely find one of the coaches and convey the important swimmer information to them.

SWSR is simply RAYawesome.  We have 30 new families this year and are excited to welcome them to the Stingray Nation.  Ironically in 45 days the season will be over.  Lets make the next 45 days of the 2017 summer RAYtastic.
