PICTURES NEEDED FOR EOY SLIDESHOW!
If you are new to the Stingrays, you may not know that our End-of-Year (EOY) party and its slideshow are a big part of the tradition. We want to make sure we get EVERY swimmer in the show. We want YOUR swimmer in the show! There are a few people who take pictures of lots of folks, but the only way to be sure is to take a few and send them to me yourself.
It takes tons of pictures to make our show. Last year's show had 1,433 images. And that doesn't count video! And I need them earlier than you might think- especially this year. I have foolishly committed to something else the week of July 23rd through 30th, so I really need the bulk of the show put together and finished by the 22nd. DO NOT WAIT to send me pictures. The more I have and the earlier I have them, the better the show.
So what do I need?
It's easier to tell you what I do NOT need. I do NOT need pics of the whole pool, all 6 lanes of the pool, or anything else generic that doesn't identify specific swimmers. I do NOT need mixed batches of pictures that include family photos, etc. I literally go through THOUSANDS of pictures over and over and over again as I seek just the right one and to place them in just the right place, etc.
I need face shots, silly shots, hugs, practice moments, sweet moments, and groups of friends. I need pics of parents working at meets too.
And what is the best way to get it to me?
Do NOT send individual pictures or an email telling me I can use the one you put on Facebook. It takes time to download each one, time that I just don't have- sorry. I need your photos in a Dropbox or Google Drive so that I can download them all at once. It is OK to send in batches. For example, if you want to put up a dropbox file for everythinig you have already and then do another one after Thursday's meet, that would be perfect.
You can also bring me a jump drive or disk drive if you prefer. Be sure it's clearly labeled so I can get it back to you.
The more pics you take, the better the show! Keep 'em comin', y'all!
Rays in the water! Rays on the screen!
Tami
