Update from Coach Allison Week 2
I hope everyone had a great Memorial Day weekend and you're looking forward to our second week of practice! I am really excited for the talent we have this season in every age group. Keep coming to practice and working hard- the results will pay off!
This week we will be focusing on more preparation for our first two swim meets coming up very soon. I had a few people email me and let me know they were going to be out of town and when they would be back over the next few weeks. This is extremely helpful, so thank you! This year we are using a new program to prepare our line up for swim meets and it is extremely important that everyone gives me as much advanced notice as possible on attendance. It's going to be much more difficult for me this year to make last minute changes, so I would really appreciate as much notice as possible. I am going to assume you will be there unless you tell me otherwise!
Upcoming swim meets are the Red and Black meet on 6/6 and a home meet against Tellico Village on 6/8. I will send out the list of attending/ not attending swimmers for both meets tomorrow, so please check the list and make sure your name is correctly identified as attending or not attending.
Also, I am encouraging each swimmer to keep track of and work towards three personal "goals" this summer. These goals can be anything from "winning a blue ribbon" to "learning how to dive" or making personal best times in a certain stroke. There will be index cards available at all practices for the next two weeks and as swimmers think of their three goals they can write them down on two separate index cards. One they will keep for themselves, and the other will be given to me so I will know what these goals are and help each swimmer in whatever way I can to accomplish all three goals by the end of the summer. Please note these are to be filled out either before or after practice time... we don't want to take any time out of our in water practice!
As usual, let me know if you have any questions. I look forward to seeing you all again tomorrow! Go Stingrays!
