    Greetings from Coach Allison

    Hello Stingray Nation!

Swimming weather is just around the corner, and I am getting VERY excited for the 2017 Stingray Season!  I am so honored that I get to work with all your swimmers for another summer... Sugarwood has been such an important part of my life for as long as I can remember, and I am thrilled that I get to carry on the stingray spirit this year as the head coach!

Our coaching staff may be young, but we are FIERCE. I am dedicated to making sure these three principles are being kept on the pool deck at all times:

1- Having fun, building relationships, and making positive memories with fellow teammates. I want to stress that even though our team has 120+ members in a very large age rage, there is no reason for a swimmer to feel left out or embarrassed if they need more help than others.  Swimmers will be expected to cheer for each other as well as encourage and challenge each other to work hard. This team should feel like a big happy family, and a safe environment for children to work on their swimming skills.

2- Every child will be given the opportunity to improve their swimming skills through optimal attention and assistance from the coaching staff. Each practice will have a specific purpose and focus on a particular skillset. Coaches will be watching swimmers at all times in order to correct mistakes and offer assistance when needed. We have a very limited number of practices and a limited amount of time for improvement, so efficiency during pool time is critical and time will not be wasted.  With this in mind, a few changes will happen to practice depending on how many kids are in each age group this year. I will keep everyone updated on this once we get farther into registration.

3- Last but not least, we are here to compete! I love to watch my swimmers win races and I also enjoy winning swim meets. In order for swimmers to meet their goals, they need to be regularly attending practice and showing up at swim meets to race hard. I expect full excellence and effort anytime a swimmer is in the water. Everyone has much more fun when they can see their hard work paying off: beating times and winning ribbons!

I will be present during all the scheduled registration times to answer any questions you may have. Also- feel free to email/text me at any time!

First registration date is NEXT WEEK, April 2 from 1-4pm at the Carbaugh residenc

I can't wait to see returning swimmers again and meet our newest additions to the team! Keep recruiting your friends and neighbors- this is going to be a great season that no one is going to want to miss out on!

    See you soon!
