SWSR - Stingray Nations Call to Duty
Stingray Nation
Wow what an awesome swim meet last night. The Stingray Battle Flag was waving proudly around the pool which brought back memories of the Bennington-Farrington swim meet last year. Ironically, that meet was won by THREE points and last nights swim meet was won by TWO points. It takes EVERY swimmer to win a close swim meet like last nights. Especially those swimmers that raced hard for those third and forth place finishes. Please encourage your swimmers and remind them that every swim for the stingray nation matters. Final score CHRA 365 SWSR 367.
Stingray Parents
Thank you, Thank you, Thank you. Each week I get complements from opposing teams leadership about our parent volunteers and how SWSR has so many parents doing things. I am always grateful to receive these complements and always let them know SWSR has so many RAYawesome families that are a part of the Stingray Nation. It takes EVERYONE's participation in the Swim Meet (parent/swimmer) to make it all work. Just like our T-shirts say this year I hope you are a "Proud Citizen of the Stingray Nation". I know I am.
SWSR - Call to Duty on Thursday 6/30/16
Our next swim meet is HOME against KRC. KRC is the LARGEST swim team in League One and GKAISA. You can count on one hand the years they did NOT win the League. Thursdays swim meet will be the LARGEST swim meet ever HOSTED at the RAY pool. There will be a lot of swimmers and parents and most of them will be with KRC. The STINGRAY NATION needs you. This swim meet will need your participation more than ever before. I am confident that our meet director Susan Horn will have the swim meet volunteer positions covered. The Call to Duty I am talking about for this swim meet is for your help above and beyond the volunteer shift position. Some needs I currently anticipate, others I may simply announce during the swim meet. Currently I know of three immediate needs.
- THREE/FOUR additional parking volunteers. I anticipate 800 cars to be parked prior to the swim meet. If you have the ability to be at the pool by 3:30 pm on thursday to help direct and park cars then please inform me or susan horn. SWSR needs you.
- NEW POSITION - "parking wrangler". we have a need during the swim meet every 30 minutes to walk thru the parked cars and up to the sugarwood street to make sure that there are not any parked cars where they are not supposed to be. If there are then identify make and license plate so that I can announce them to move over the loud speaker. TWO / THREE individuals, let me or susan horn know if you can help.
- NEW POSITION - "trash wrangler". typically the lifeguards do this, however with the pure volume of people on thursday the trash will mount quickly. TWO individuals making rounds periodically to change out trash bags would be great. let me or susan horn know if you can help.
Win or Lose the Stingray Nation will always SERVE and have FUN. That is your Call to Duty and Reminder for Thursday Night. The swim meet theme is HAWAIIAN. It is an EXTRAVAGANZA you are going to want to experience. GOD has blessed SWSR with an incredible venue to host a swim meet and it is the STINGRAY NATION that creates the energy and atmosphere that makes ALL visiting teams experience the FUN.
I am excited for Thursday "LETS DO THIS"
