SWSR AWAY MEET GMST 6/23/16 WORKER ASSIGNMENTS
Thank you to everyone who volunteered for last week's meet. It was really hot and this Thursday looks to be hot again. We might not have won the meet but our meet ran smoothly and on time. Thank you all! Our meet this week will be against Green Meadows in Alcoa at 5:30. Here is some important information about the meet that was sent from GMST.
Hi Sugarwood-
Welcome to our league! I wanted to send out some quick information for the meet next week. Feel free to let us know if you have any questions about the upcoming meet.
Location- Your team will be located on the far side of our pool, on the concrete pad that is behind the block area. We have a tent that will be set up, but I would also encourage your team to bring pop-up tents if your families have those. There is more space out there but it definitely will be warm so the more shade the better! There are also chairs set up around the pool and bleachers for spectators. People can set up their own chairs around the pool as well.
The golf course is directly behind your tent. There is a grassy area and then the cart path dividing the area. Please help us keep kids off of the golf course portion. We will have a lifeguard stationed out there as well. There is a sandtrap that is close to there that is very attractive to the kids.
Parking- We have a paved parking lot around our pool. When this overflows, we will have a parking attendant directing cars into the back grassy area behind the parking lot. Cars can also park along the road leading into the club. We will have someone out there, but as long as they don't park on the actual golf course or block any cart paths, its ok. Please ensure that no one parks on the actual golf course.
Concessions- We do not allow outside food or drinks into the club. However, for meets, we do allow families to bring snacks, water, gatorade, etc. We just ask that no one bring a large cooler into the meet or try to bring meals for everyone. We have a concession stand that will have typical snack/pool food- drinks, candy, chips. There will also be a grill serving hotdogs and hamburgers and a swim team stand selling baked goods, drinks, and goggles.
Other items: We have an 8 lane pool. The younger kids start on the turn end of the pool (4 feet, no blocks). We do double cards for the 10 and unders, and do not have a runner on the turn side of the pool to collect younger kids cards and bring them back to the finish side. We do have a runner on that side of the pool for DQ slips.
Here are the instructions for new families who still aren't sure what to do for working the meet. Everyone else can go straight to the worker assignments. Please contact me with any questions or concerns.

Every FAMILY IS REQUIRED TO HAVE A PARENT WORKING AT LEAST ONE SHIFT AT EACH MEET IF YOU HAVE A SWIMMER. THANK YOU, PARENTS, FOR MAKING EVERY MEET HAPPEN!
I have ATTACHED the Worker Assignments. If you do not see your name on the list and you have swimmer, please reply email to me asap. Please direct all worker assignment questions to ME - the Meet Director (not to Chet).
Any family with a swimmer at the meet MUST work at least one shift. More shifts are optional but appreciated.
1. Find your name on the sign-up spreadsheet.
2. If your NAME IS ON THE LIST and your CHILD IS NOT SWIMMING the meet, please email the meet director asap to let her know so she can replace you.
3. If your NAME IS NOT ON THE LIST and your CHILD IS SWIMMING, please email the meet director asap so you can be placed in a job.
4. If you want to work an additional shift to fill an open job - God bless you and email the meet director.
5. Show up on time for your job shift
(Sign In immediately with the Meet Director upon arrival - it really helps the meets start on time.
