SWSR Coaches' Update/*JCSC rescheduled
Hello Stingray Swimmers and Families!!
After the meet last night against Jefferson City was delayed multiple times due to thunder, a decision was made to reschedule the remainder of the meet as it appeared bad storms were on their way. The date for the make-up meet has been set and it will be at Sugarwood on Thursday, July 2. We will pick up right where we left off last night!
That means we will have two meets that week as we have an away meet against SAC on Tuesday, June 30. It will give our swimmers a fun week of racing and an exciting opportunity to simulate racing twice in three days, as many of them will at our the GKAISA City Championship meet.
Speaking of championship meets, before City Meet we have the Smoky Mountain Invitational! We need to know by Monday, June 22 if you plan on attending! Coach Ben and myself will have forms at the pool Monday if you wish to register. The Smoky Mountain meet is a championship style meet held for all teams in GKAISA. However, swimmers that participate in USS (year-round) swimming are not allowed to participate. One of the biggest strengths of our team is how competitive we are with so few year-round swimmers. We would love to have as much participation in this meet as we can get and show GKAISA what Stingray swimming is all about!
A couple of reminders:
I will be offering clinics tomorrow morning Saturday June 20, and there is still room if you would like to join! The price is 10$ a swimmer.
I had a number of swimmers interested in doing the starts sessions, so now sessions 1 & 2 will involve start/block work and session 3 will be about turns (both flip turns and open turns).
Session 1 is 8:15-9:00.
Session 2 is 9:05-9:50.
Session 3 is 9:55-10:40.
Also, temperatures have been soaring and we are really stressing the importance of bringing water every day to practice. We will continue to work harder and harder as the season progresses and staying hydrated is of the utmost importance.
See you all at the pool!
