Swim Lessons/Private Sessions
Hello Stingray Nation!
You may have seen or heard that I am offering swim lessons or private sessions this summer. I've spoken with a number of you already, but I wanted to take some time to share a little more information for anyone else who might be interested.
First, this is a great opportunity for everyone from our youngest Little Ray still learning the strokes, a City Meet finalist looking to get a leg up on the competition, a new swimmer looking to catch up on a particular stoke, and anyone else in between! Sessions could entail but are not limited to: skill work (starts/turns), race preparation, aerobic training, and stroke analysis. I will also be using video analysis with the swimmers.
We have limited access to the pool at Sugarwood, but we do have a couple of options.
Option 1: For those early birds out there, we can do a lesson/session on Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday, or Thursday before the official start of practice. That would be from 6:45-7:15 AM. If/when those fill up, we could also go from 6:15-6:45 AM.
Option 2: With Fun Friday not starting until 10, we can start later on Fridays. All lessons are 30 minutes long, and we need to be out by 9:45 AM so 30 minute slots up until that time are available on a first come, first serve basis!
Prices for Options 1 & 2 are $30 each for one child or four sessions for $100. Additional kids per session are $10/each. No more than four kids per session, but if you have multiple children around the same age/skill level or want to partner up with another family, this is a good way to save a little money.
Option 3: As a Tennessee Aquatics coach, I can also teach lessons through their lesson program. We have a lot more flexibility with times and can do them more or less at your convenience. However, all lessons must be at the University of Tennessee.
Prices for Option 3 are set by Tennessee Aquatics and are $40 per lesson. Four lessons are available for $144 and eight lessons are available for $256.
Option 4: I will be hosting three clinics this summer on Saturday mornings. The dates are June 13, June 20, and July 18. More information regarding these clinics will be announced closer to the dates, but I wanted to go ahead and send out the dates. Clinics run more like group lessons, whereas they have less swimmers than a typical practice (probably somewhere between 8-12 per session) but they are not private 1-on-1 lessons.
Prices for Option 4 will be $10/swimmer. I will have more information about class sizes and times closer to the dates.
If you have any other questions or would like to go ahead and set up a private sessions, please contact me at [email protected].
See you all at the pool! Go 'Rays!
